Fire watch guards for Seattle-area buildings
Your fire alarm or sprinkler system is down and the fire marshal wants a fire watch. We post a guard to walk the building and keep the log until the system is back.

What you get
Fire Watch from Blu Wing
When your fire alarm or sprinkler system goes down, the fire marshal can require a fire watch until it's repaired. That usually means you need someone on site today. Call us. We have started fire watch the same night a property called.
- Guards walk the building on a set schedule
- A written fire watch log for the fire marshal
- Coverage for a fixed period or until repairs finish
- Call now if the system is down today

What our fire watch officers do
- Walk every assigned floor, corridor, stairwell and common area on a continuous loop, with each full circuit done at least every 30 minutes, or more often if the fire marshal directs.
- Keep a written fire watch log with the time of each round, the areas covered, conditions observed and the officer on duty. The log stays on site for you and the fire marshal.
- Call 911 and the fire department the moment they detect fire or smoke, then call you.
- Report blocked exits, propped or blocked fire doors, disabled life-safety equipment and piles of combustible material.
- Stay awake, alert and on site for the full shift.
Built to your fire marshal's directive
We follow the Seattle Fire Code, the Washington State Fire Code and any written directive from the fire marshal for your building. Send us the directive and we build the patrol around it.
Coverage that flexes day by day
Fire watch rarely has a clean end date. Repairs slip. Our agreements cover the days you know you need and extend day by day by text or email until the system is back. Shifts can be a few hours or around the clock.
What fire watch is not
Fire watch is detection and notification. Our officers are not firefighters, and fire watch doesn't include general security patrol unless you add it.
How pricing works
Fire watch is billed by the hour, per officer, in 15-minute increments. You pay for the hours we're on site.
FAQs
Questions about fire watch
How fast can you start?
Call us. Tell us the address, which buildings or floors need coverage and the hours the fire marshal requires. We'll tell you on that call when we can have an officer there.
Do I need a contract for one night?
We sign a short agreement before the first shift. It takes a few minutes and covers extensions, so you don't sign again when repairs run long.
Do you provide fire watch in Tacoma?
Yes. We cover fire watch in Seattle, Tacoma and anywhere within 50 miles of Seattle.
